We previously reported that Blaze Entertainment were to hold an Evercade Showcase livestream to unveil new Evercade developments. The first showcase was held yesterday(31st May 2023). Here’s what was announced…
A new Evercade VS (Atomic Edition). The Evercade VS Atomic Edition is the second limited edition Evercade VS to be made available, following the black Founders Edition, which was available for a limited period at the launch of the console.
The new Evercade VS Atomic Edition has a design “inspired by action movies of the 1980s and 90s” and is limited to 2000 units. The console is exclusive to Funstock, and can be pre-ordered now. It costs £119.99 and is due to ship in November 2023. The forthcoming two Duke Nukem cartridges will be bundled with the Evercade VS Atomic Edition.
That brings us nicely to the new Evercade cartridge announcements, which include the two Duke Nukem Collections.
The first Duke Nukem Collection includes newly remastered versions of the original 2D Duke Nukem games alongside the original versions of both games and Duke Nukem 3D.
The Duke Nukem Collection 2 includes Duke Nukem Time to Kill, Duke Nukem Land of the Babes, and Duke Nukem Advance. The Duke Nukem Collections will be available to pre-order in August 2023, to be shipped in November 2023.
Other new Evercade cartridge announcements included the previously leaked Sydney Hunter and Piko Arcade collections, as well as a second Amiga collection, this time focusing on games from Delphine Software, including Another World, Future Wars and Operation Stealth. Flashback is also included on the cart, but for some reason, it’s the Mega Drive version rather than the Amiga version. This cartridge is available to pre-order from July 2023, for release in September 2023.
The other new Evercade cartridge announced is a collection of Sunsoft games, comprising Aero the Acro-bat, Mr Gimmick (which is also coming to modern consoles, as we previously reported), Blaster Master, Arabia, Journey to Silius, and Blaster Master Boy. The Sunsoft Collection is out in September 2023.
