If you’re a fan of our feline friends (which I am) and a fan of rotating tile puzzles (which I’m not so much). Then have we found the “purrfect” twin pack of games for you?!
While the rotating tile puzzle gameplay might not be to my personal taste, Hidden Shapes: Cat Realm + Trick or Cats are nonetheless well-made examples of their genre that are sure to provide enjoyment to fans of sliding tile puzzles.
Trick or Cats sees the adorable kitties dressed up in spooky Halloween attire, while Hidden Shapes: Cat Realm adds a little depth to the puzzling formula by also telling a fantastical story.
Both games are well-suited to playing in handheld mode, perhaps with the telly on in the background as you unwind after a hard day at work. Even though the pieces didn’t fall into place for my personal tastes, they’re easy games to recommend to fans of the sliding tile puzzle genre, as the puzzles are challenging, the images are simple line drawings, but still very cute, the soundtrack is suitably chilled, and the simple controls work well, making the puzzles easy to grasp, but perhaps not quite so easy to conquer!
The Switch version (reviewed) is available now from the eshop, and Hidden Shapes: Cat Realm + Trick or Cats is also available now on Xbox One & Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 4, and the two games can be bought individually for PC.
The games are available at a low price on all formats, so there’s no excuse not to buy if you’re a fan of felines and rotating tile puzzles!
