One of the most popular digital toolsets for playing Dungeons & Dragons, D&D Beyond is being purchased by toy giant Hasbro from current owners, Fandom. The website, which has amassed 10 million users on its platform, allows tabletop gamers with all the tools they need to play D&D either online or in person.
For a mere $146.3 million, D&D Beyond will be absorbed into Hasbro’s Wizards of the Coast division. WotC already controls D&D as well as Magic: The Gathering and other tabletop and digital gaming franchises. This acquisition is all part of Hasbro’s drive to become a gaming powerhouse.
