slam and roll

Developer KaleidoGames explains that the new retro-inspired indie game Slam and Roll “pays homage to 90s arcade ‘stage clear’ games, blending inspired mechanics and a distinctive art style with modern gameplay standards.” The game centres around defeating enemies by throwing balls at them, ala Bubble Bobble.

It includes over 200 stages and four game modes spread across eight different worlds. It also features some great-looking pixel art. A demo is available to try on Steam now with the full game out on early access. There are plans for a Switch release later in the year with a PlayStation port also in the works.
