One of the more surprising announcements at Gamescom this week is a forthcoming video game based on the cult 1988 comedy horror movie Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
So, which 80s video shop “classic” will be the next to receive a contemporary video game release? Robot Jox? Amazon Women on the Moon?
Who knows? What we do know is that Killer Klowns from Outer Space is heading to Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S early next year, courtesy of publishers Good Shepherd Entertainment and developers Teravision Games. The game will be a 3v7 multiplayer horror game.
Surely this is proof that video gaming is continuing to move towards an older demographic, as nobody under the age of 40 is likely to have heard of the movie! You can sign up for the beta here.
