Sega Mania magazine has closed as of today.
Even though the mag wasn’t part of the Fusion stable, we enjoy a bit of friendly competition, so we’re sad to see it go.
The mag launched back in 2020 and seven issues were published. A recently teased eighth issue will no longer be published.
The magazine’s USP was that it was dedicated solely to 1990s Sega, with each issue covering a different year of the 90s. The final issue was dedicated to 1995.
The news was communicated via the mag’s email list in an email sent at 00.54 this morning, citing an unspecified “multitude of factors” for the magazine’s closure. Pre-orders and outstanding subscriptions have been refunded.
Editor Tim Hugall has stated his hopes for future projects from the Sega Mania team.
