Blaze Entertainment are offering Evercade VS owners the chance to sample 10 titles from the forthcoming Indie Heroes volume 2 cartridge, by releasing a different game per month via monthly updates to the console’s system software.
September’s update s now live, and it includes the action platform game Eyra: the Crow Maiden, which clearly owes a debt to swords and sorcery epics such as Conan and Red Sonja. An 8-bit version of the game was originally developed for the NES, funded by Kickstarter. The crowdfunding was so successful that a 16-bit version was also produced, for Mega Drive/Genesis. The 16-bit version is the one that’s being released for Evercade.
Upon updating the Evercade VS’s system software, users will be able to play Eyra: the Crow Maiden until they update the console’s system software with a later version.
