Spyro is back! In Crash Team Rumble.
Spyro will soon be burning his way onto PlayStation 4 and 5 and Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles, albeit as a playable character in Crash Team Rumble. Spyro debuts in the battle game on 7th December 2023, when season 3 launches.
For the uninitiated, Crash Team Rumble is Activision’s online multiplayer battle title starring Crash Bandicoot and not a scrap that broke out amongst the team who put on last weekend’s event in Kenilworth!
However, the little purple fella’s appearance in the game has fired up speculation in the Spyro fan community (yes, evidently such a thing exists!) about a potential new title for the cute fire-breather.
Spyro made his debut in 1998 in the eponymously-titled and well-received Spyro the Dragon 3D platformer for PlayStation.
The most recent new Spyro game to be released was 2008’s The Legend of Spyro, though the series’ original trilogy was remastered and released as The Spyro Reignited Trilogy in 2018.
