Konami’s long-awaited Cowabunga Collection was finally released in August, and our deep-pan dive review of the game is scheduled to appear in a future issue of Fusion magazine.

If you don’t want to wait, here’s a quick precis to help you decide whether it’s worth buying (spoiler: it is!)

In this Collection, Digital Eclipse have compiled a beautifully presented, impressively comprehensive collection of the Turtles’ 13 finest arcade and console titles. It’s astounding how many games are included, including some bona fide classics. This collection proves that the video game genre that best suits the Turtles is the side-scrolling beat ‘em up.

The Cowabunga Collection is a must for “Shell Heads”, and for side-scrolling beat ‘em up fans, as it has some of the best. So, if you’re neither a Turtles fan nor a beat ‘em up dude, knock a point off the score.

I've been playing video games since the 1980s, from the 8-bit era onwards. I have had to play one-handed following a stroke in 2014, and I blog about playing games with one hand.

    1. Ha! In the text I do caution that if you’re not a Turtles fan you might want to knock a star off! It’s so obviously been compiled with love hasn’t it? For me it’s perfect. My full-length review for the mag contextualises my love of TMNT a bit too.
