The ID@Xbox program has been a massive success for Indie developers. Microsoft has announced that so far, they have earned more than $2.5 billion since it started nine years ago. Indeed, most of that revenue has been in just the past three years alone. The Content-Creation GM, Chris Charla, said “These are staggering numbers, and it speaks to the power of independent developers.”
ID@Xbox allows small, independent developers to self-publish games on Xbox with ease. Microsoft directly supports the developers and provides tools for them to get their games published on the platform, which they would otherwise not be able to do.
In addition, Game Pass includes hundreds of Indie titles allowing people to try these titles that they wouldn’t normally play, also generating hundreds of millions for the small developers.
