August’s edition of EDGE magazine contains a massive sixteen-page preview of its cover game, Still Wakes The Deep, the new terrifying first-person chiller. There’s also big hype for Cocoon, Counter-Strike 2, Blasphemous 2, Saltsea Chronicles, Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, and Times & Galaxy.

Elsewhere in this issue is a look into Valve’s Steam Deck rivals, UK studio nDreams discusses ten years of working with VR, and there’s an interview with Henrique Olifiers from Bossa about Coop, Lost Skies, and the Spectrum Next. There’s also a studio profile of Endnight Games and the making of Tunic.

There’s a reasonable smattering of game reviews this month including Street Fighter 6, Diablo IV, System Shock, Miasma Chronicles, Amnesia: The Bunker, After Us, Firmament, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, What the Car, and Mask of the Rose. Closing out the issue is a look back at X-Com: UFO Defense.
