Game Boy Advance Fire Emblem was the first to be released in the West, and it’s coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack on Friday 23rd June.
The game, formally titled Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, was first released in Europe and Australasia in 2004, following its release in Japan and the US in 2003.
Despite being the first to hit Western shores, Game Boy Fire Emblem is actually the seventh title in the long-running RPG series, which began in Japan back in 1990 with Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light on the Nintendo Famicom. The original Famicom game didn’t make it beyond Japanese shores until 2020, when it hit the Nintendo Switch.
