One of the winners of the 64th annual Grammy Awards is Kirby! Charlie Rosen and Jake Silverman from The 8-Bit Big Band won the prestigious award for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Capella, for their cover of Meta Knight’s Revenge from Kirby Superstar.
Having beat even the London Symphony Orchestra, The 8-Bit Band shared their success on Twitter, giving thanks to everyone that contributed to the win.
During their acceptance speech, Charlie Rosen thanked both Nintendo and the original Kirby composer Jun Ishikawa. Only Christopher Tin has previously won a Grammy award for a video game composition, for Civilization 4 back in 2010.
