While it’s nearly Christmas, and we’re feeling all Christmassy and nostalgic here at Fusion R Gamer, we thought we’d take a look back at an interesting gaming curio from a Christmas past.
The Christmas 1993 issue (issue 54) of Future Publishing’s Amiga Format magazine boasted a festive coverdisk including this mash-up of two of Sensible Software’s best-loved Amiga games, Cannon Soccer (Cannon Fodder Christmas Edition)
Perhaps inspired by the “Christmas Truce” of 1914 when both sides in World War I suspended hostilities for a game of football, Cannon Soccer was a little more violent, featuring two new levels of Sensible oftware’s shooter, Cannon Fodder, but with snowy landscapes and footballer sprites. Festive fun for all the family!
