New research from the British consumer group Which? has concluded that the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers feature a critical design flaw, which is the likely cause of stick-drift, that has dogged the console since launch.
They report that noticeable wear on the circuit boards at contact points and insufficient protection against dust ultimately cause this drifting, which can occur after just a few months. The organisation also criticised Nintendo’s handling and response to the issue.
The consumer group concluded by requesting Nintendo ensure a “completely free-of-charge repair or replacement of all Joy-Con controllers solid in the UK” since 2017.
