Here at Fusion R Gamer, we find it fascinating to see just how hard retro hardware can be in order to run games that should be beyond their capabilities, such as this new Commodore Plus/4 Stunt Car Racer port.

That’s right, Commodore Blog have found a real doozy in the form of Geoff Crammond’s classic 3D racing classic Stunt Car Racer being ported to the humble Commodore Plus/4.

Stunt Car Racer was originally released in 1989, on a number of formats, including two other Commodore machines, the 16-bit Amiga, and the 8-bit Commodore 64.

Less well-known than its C64 brother, the 8-bit Commodore Plus/4 was based on the earlier Commodore 16, and was pitched squarely at business users rather than gamers.

I've been playing video games since the 1980s, from the 8-bit era onwards. I have had to play one-handed following a stroke in 2014, and I blog about playing games with one hand.
