Online rumors suggest that the free games to be made available to PS Plus Essential members in July have been leaked.

One game potentially of interest to retro gamers is the platforming sequel Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions will both be offered according to the rumours. The 2020 game is the latest in the franchise, which began with the original Crash Bandicoot game, released in 1996 for PlayStation.

The other two free PS Plus games for July 2022 are rumoured to be Dark Pictures: Man of Medan and Arcageddon.

PS Plus Essential is now the basic tier of membership for PlayStation Plus.

July 2022’s PS Plus games will be officially announced on 29th June at 4.30pm UK time. Fans of 3D platformers who haven’t got around to picking up Crash Bandicoot 4 will be hoping the rumours are true!

The games will be available to download for PS Plus members from Tuesday 5th July 2022.

  1. My pet peeve about PS Plus – is that games are not free – even though everyone says they are 🙂
    It’s a £6.99 to £13.49 per month game rental/online play scheme.

That said, Crash + Medan are great games to be included if you’re a subscriber.

    1. This is a fair point, and maybe I should’ve been clearer about that. I think i didn’t explain that because most readers of a specialist site like this will already know how PS plus works, but it’s a fair point. Thanks for the feedback.
