Square Enix revealed in their 16th June Summer Game Fest 2022 Final Fantasy VII presentation that their Final Fantasy VII Remake project will actually consist of a trilogy of games. The already released Final Fantasy VII Remake from 2020 is the first of the three games.
The second game in the trilogy is to be titled Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and will be released on PlayStation 5 next winter.
The title of the third and final game in the project has not yet been revealed, nor has its release window been announced.
The final Final Fantasy Remake Project will, therefore, result in much-expanded experience compared to Square Enix’s much-lauded 1997 PlayStation original, which is considered a classic of the JRPG genre.
