In an exclusive reveal by Game Informer, iconic 80s trading card characters Garbage Pail Kids (GPK) are coming to NES. GPK: Mad Mike and the Quest for Stale Gum is set after events of GPK Mad Mike: Fury Load, a short story written by Adam Golberg who is famous for writing the Goldbergs TV show.
You play as several different characters from the original card collection and can switch between them during the platform action. They all have different abilities to utilise throughout the different settings seen in the game. Even the bosses and NPCs are based on the original GPK cards.
A development team is made up of Retrotainment and iam8bit that have many retro titles released already. It will be available on PS4, Switch, Xbox One and PC from 25th October and will feature rewinds, galleries and save states. The actual NES version is expected to come early 2023.
