Blaze Entertainment have announced that they’re refreshing their Evercade line of retro consoles with two new models. The Evercade Rs will replace the existing Evercade models as follows…
Evercade EXP-R is the new handheld SKU, replacing the Evercade EXP. Changes include a new charcoal grey colour and a textured grip.
However, the EXP-R also sees some features removed from the original EXP. Due to Blaze’s licensing agreement with Capcom expiring, the Evercade EXP-R will not include the built-in Capcom games found on the original model.
Also removed from the original EXP is the Mini-HDMI out.
The Evercade EXP-R will retail at just £99.99, a lower price than the existing EXP.
The new home version of the Evercade VS is named – you guessed it – Evercade VS-R.
The Evercade VS-R also comes in the new charcoal grey colour.
The Evercade VS-R will retail for a lower price than the existing Evercade VS model, at just £89.99.
The Evercade Rs will both come bundled with a yet-to-be-confirmed title on Evercade giga cartridge format, on which we have previously reported.
The Evercade Rs are due for release in July 2024, and production of the existing Evercade EXP and Evercade VS models has now been discontinued.
