The beloved Japanese game developer Treasure celebrated its 30th anniversary yesterday, on Sunday 19th June 2022.
In celebration, the developer announced it is currently working on an as-yet-unannounced, but much-requested title. As might be expected, internet speculation is now rife that this mystery title might be the much sought-after shoot ‘em-up Radiant Silvergun, which was Treasure’s first arcade title, originally released in 1998, the Sega Saturn conversion of which now commands a hefty price tag.
Other popular games developed by Treasure include Gunstar Heroes, Guardian Heroes, Bangai-O, Dynamite Headdy, Sin and Punishment, and the GameCube’s underrated Wario World.
No date has yet been announced for either confirmation or release of the mystery title. Fingers crossed, Radiant Silvergun fans!
