Perhaps it was lost amongst the chatter about the PlayStation 5 streaming device Project Q, and the Spider-Man 2 reveal, but one of the of the more interesting titles announced at the PlayStation Showcase held yesterday (24th May 2023) was the exclusive to PlayStation Ultros, a psychedelic-looking, side-scrolling Metroidvania title.
Ultros PlayStation promises “a beautiful, emotional, symphonic soundscape” which draws on analog instruments, including the cello, viola, violin, and pump organs. And in addition to the platforming exploration that one would expect from a game in the Metroidvania
genre, Ultros also promises “an intimate close-combat system”.
Ultros will be released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 next year.
Although Ultros is console-exclusive to PlayStation platforms, the game will also be released for PC via Steam. You can find out more on the game’s official website or Twitter feed.
And you can add Ultros to your PlayStation wishlist now.
