As reported on Twitter (X) by Damiano Gerli, a gaming history preservationist, a 1980s DOS game titled Simulgolf has been digitised from floppy disks and made available online for the first time.
While the original Commodore 64 version has been available online from abandonware sites for some time, it is believed that this is the first time that the DOS version has been made available online.
Simulgolf was first released in 1988 by Italian software house Simulmondo.
While we tend to avoid morally grey areas such as abandonware here on Fusion R Gamer, we do feel that such uploads are an essential method by which gaming history that may otherwise slip through the cracks can be preserved.
