Between the Scanlines is a new retro fanzine created by a bunch of lovely retro fans. The digital publication is on to its second issue already and aims to provide a mix of topics from gaming memories to interviews with developers. The fanzine’s editor, Sasha McAuliffe, told us “I got the idea for Between the Scanlines after reading a PC Engine fanzine from 1992 and being charmed by how passionate and casual it felt. I’m a collector and fan of old gaming magazines and a budding video game culture and media historian, so it means a lot to be able to share my geeky passions in a form that feels authentic to those fanzines. And from the feedback I’ve received, it does seem to appeal to those who are nostalgic for that kind of mini-mag and who enjoy an anecdotal exploration of gaming history.”
