According to reports, passengers ran screaming from a Boston airport when the bomb squad was called in after TSA agents found a suspicious item inside a passenger bag. The unknown device was found in Terminal A and prompted a full-scale evacuation.
The device turned out to be an old Playstation games console in such a degraded condition, that it was unrecognisable to the screener, possibly covered in enough organic material to change its appearance when scanned.
Dave Procopio, a spokesperson for Massachusetts State Police stated that the condition of the console caused abnormalities in the x-ray image produced, prompting the concern. Logan International Airport reopened the terminal after an hour following the all-clear.
