AQUABYSS is a new sandbox game for the Amiga computer by Aged Code.
After seven years of intensive development, the game was released on October 15, 2022, at the Amiga37 event in Mönchengladbach, Germany.
In AQUABYSS you may continue the protagonist’s adventures from the graphic novel or choose your own path and navigate the open, vast underwater depths. Naturally, in both modes, you may trade, explore and discover new cities, upgrade your submarine, acquire new ones, develop your character, have dialogues with NPCs, complete quests, mine resources from the ocean floor, face or avoid the dangers lurking in the depths, compare your achievements with other players, or finally meet them online in the chat. This is just a foretaste of what awaits you in the underwater world of AQUABYSS!
Requirements:
The minimum hardware required to run the game is an Amiga 68000, 2 MB Chip, 8 MB Fast RAM, and 15 MB free hard drive space.
However, due to the uneven parts of the game, such as the city, where the processor doesn’t play a huge role, and the sea, where a lot of heavy calculations are performed, we recommend a 68020 28 MHz as a minimum. Nevertheless, if your precious computer is equipped with a 68030 50 MHz or faster (ideally), your experience will be much more enjoyable, as the game uses every MIPS calculated by the CPU.

Network:
The game draws a lot from the network connection. It can be installed by running a small installer locally – the rest will be downloaded from our server. This is a very convenient way, appreciated already by the beta tester team over many months.
But that’s not all. Every time the game connects to the server it checks if there is an update. If so, the update is downloaded and installed automatically.
Another cool feature is the All-Time Achievement list. You can compare your achievements with other players. You can also communicate with other players online in the in-game chat!
How about saving your game remotely on our server so you could load it on another Amiga or simply as a secure backup in case your local drive fails? It is covered!
The network will be used much more extensively in the game but that will come over time and with the participation of the Amiga community.
Offline:
Yes, the game can be played entirely cut off from the network. It is up to the player whether or not to connect to the game server. It is also possible to limit the online game to updates only. Remember, however, if you decide to play it offline you will miss out on great fun with others!

The game is now available for purchase!
You can buy a digital version of the game AQUABYSS, which has an open status. What does this mean? It means that the game is and will be developed all the time, new content will be added, bugs will be corrected, and it is also possible that something will be removed. The future of the game, and its content, will depend on the community of players. You too can have an impact on it, dear Amiga fan. Aged Code hopes that such a model suits you and you are willing to support the studio by buying the game so that we can continue to work with passion on this unique title.
