New Civilization Game in the Works

Over on the official Sid Meier’s Civilization Twitter account (where else?!) It has been teased that a new Civilzation game is in the works.


The Civilization series of real-time strategy games began back in 1991, with Sid Meier’s Civilization. A number of instalments were subsequently released over the years, with 2016’s Civilization VI being the most recent game in the series.

The original Sid Meier’s Civilzation game is so highly regarded that it was inducted into the Video Game Hall of Fame in 2022.

Presumably, this new Civilization Game will be titled Civilization VII, as long as it follows the naming conventions of previous installments in the series.

As per the previous installment of the series, the new Civilization game will be developed by Firaxis.
