Sony has started the process of acquiring Canadian developer Haven Studios. The team is headed up by Jade Raymond who is known for her work on Watchdogs and Assassins Creed. According to reports, Sony bought a large stake in the firm last March and have now agreed to buy the studio. Before the agreement was made Haven Studios were working on a new game, exclusively for Sony, described as a ‘live service experience built upon a systemic and evolving world’
Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan said ‘Haven Studios is an emerging studio with an exceptional team of talent, and we’re delighted to welcome them into PlayStation as our first game development studio in Canada. The studio’s focus on creating an original AAA multiplayer game will not only flex the power of PlayStation 5 but will further expand upon the diverse catalogue of gaming experiences that can only be found on PlayStation.’
