One of Japan’s oldest developers, SNK Corporation, makers of King of Fighters and Metal Slug, now has a controversial new owner. Following a series of investments, Mohammad bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, now owns the majority of shares in SNK.
It has been confirmed, that the Electronic Gaming Development Company, which is owned by Mohammad’s MiSK Foundation, now holds 96% of SNK’s shares.
The international community has in recent years been critical of Mohammad bin Salman for Saudi Arabia’s human rights violations. This follows previous Saudi Arabian investments in Activision Blizzard, Electronic Arts, Capcom, and Take-Two Games.
