1996’s Elder Scrolls: Chapter II Daggerfall has been re-released with new updated visuals and modern controls, making Bethesda’s open-world RPG classic easier to play for a modern audience.

This new “GOG cut” of the game is available now from GOG.com for Windows PCs as a free download and should keep you going until Bethesda eventually release Elder Scrolls VI (whenever that may be!) This standalone “GOG cut” of Elder Scrolls: Chapter II Daggerfall is based on a fan-made Unity mod of the game launched over a decade ago by Gavin “Interkarma” Clayton. Although GOG claim that their new modernised “GOG cut” of Elder Scrolls: Chapter II Daggerfall is enjoyable to play, they do also warn that it is not yet a finished product, but is an ongoing project, so players are advised to save their progress often using quicksave (F9).

I've been playing video games since the 1980s, from the 8-bit era onwards. I have had to play one-handed following a stroke in 2014, and I blog about playing games with one hand.
