Pixel art platformer ‘Rite’ was developed by solo developer Daniel Freer under the name Pond Games. It’s been available on Steam for a while, but is now on Nintendo Switch. Rite harks back to when precision jumping was essential to avoid falling to a grisly demise, and the pixel art style of the game certainly evokes an earlier era of gaming. Rite is a fast-paced precision platformer with 160 challenging levels that will surely appeal to anyone who fondly remembers the likes of Rick Dangerous, back when games were punishingly hard but also fair and incredibly addictive.
Rite was released on the eshop for Nintendo Switch today (Tuesday 23rd August 2022).
