The release date for Ron Gilbert’s new Monkey Island game has been confirmed for Nintendo Switch and PC. The game will be released on 19th September, “International Talk Like A Pirate Day”. I hope the game doesn’t descend into Leisure Suit Larry-style filth if it’s “Aaaaarrrrrhhh”-rated!

As you’d expect, we’ve been closely following the game’s development, including a video revealing gameplay, and reporting on Ron Gilbert reacting to aggressively negative feedback. Our view, of course, is that Gibert knows what he’s doing, and we should let him get on with it! We’ve been covering the game since it was announced, and we can’t wait to start trading insults and imbibing grog!

Pre-order now on Nintendo Switch or Steam and you’ll get “useless horse armour” in your inventory!

Release on other consoles is planned at a later, as yet unspecified date.

I've been playing video games since the 1980s, from the 8-bit era onwards. I have had to play one-handed following a stroke in 2014, and I blog about playing games with one hand.
