Intellivision Amico is all but dead but in an open letter, sent to those who signed up for updates, CEO Phil Adam is reassuring backers that Amico will still be released soon. If anybody is still holding hope that the car crash of a console launch will still happen, they’ll be buoyed by this ‘news’.
The latest newsletter explains that “we want to assure our fans that shipping a console remains a part of our product strategy. The development and hands-on testing of our pilot units have been a successful step forward. As a testament of this progress, we are pleased to share with you this video of a father and son playing Shark! Shark! on one of the pilot units in their home!”
The video shows a father and son playing a game involving fish and sharks that looks a little underwhelming. What will be the final outcome for Amico? When will they stop flogging this dead horse? Only time will tell, but for now the promises of a console release continue.
