Limited Edition Atari 50 Box Set Sells Out in Hours

Atari recently released Atari 50, a well-received compilation spanning their 50 years of existence.


As a part of their 50th-anniversary celebrations, yesterday (Tuesday 7th February 2023), Atari also announced a very limited edition box set of 10 cartridges for the Atari 2600, named the Atari XP 50th Anniversary box set. The box set was limited to 100 copies worldwide, and unsurprisingly, it sold out pretty quickly despite costing $999.99.


The games included in Atari XP 50th were: Adventure, Missile Command, Warlords, Super Breakout, Crystal Castles, Haunted House, Yars’ Revenge, Centipede, Asteroids, and Gravitar. In addition to the Atari 2600 cartridges, each game in the box set also came with a poster, pin, and digital copy of the game.

Asteroids, Gravitar, Yars’ Revenge, Haunted House, and Centipede were also available to purchase separately for $99.99 each, but these also sold out quickly.
