The return of Little Nightmares at Gamescom was amazing news, as was the announcement that Supermassive Games was taking over the development duties. The horror game masters – famed for Until Dawn, The Quarry, and the Dark Pictures Anthology series – instantly upped the expectations for fans, especially as they are known to cater for couch co-op.

However, whilst co-op has been confirmed, publishers Bandai Namco have said that this will only be available for online gamers. After recently blasting through It Takes Two and A Way Out with a friend on the sofa, this is somewhat disappointing. In an interview with GamesRadar, game director Wayne Garland stated that couch co-op was considered, but ultimately sacrificed in favour of creepiness. I’m not convinced…
