As reported by Ars Technica, an F-Zero fan has recreated F-Zero courses previously only available from the long-defunct Japan-only Super Famicom satellite service Satellaview.
The courses were previously offered only as part of a limited-time Grand Prix 2 event, but, along with four new vehicles, the Grand Prix 2 courses can now be patched into ROMs of the Japanese, US, or PAL Super Famicom/SNES F-Zero game to create what the modder has titled BS F-Zero Deluxe.
The Grand Prix 2 content has been recreated using VHS recordings and AI tools, and the results are claimed to be over 99% accurate.
With all the attention that F-Zero’s been getting in recent months, such as this new unofficial mod and the Switch’s F-Zero 99, it must surely be time for a new F-Zero game once the successor to the Switch launches, right, Nintendo? And how about an official release of F-Zero Deluxe, while you’re at it?
