NeoSprint is a modern revival of the Sprint series of racing games, which began way back in 1976 with the original black and white Sprint 2 game (the “2” denoting the number of players rather than that it was a sequel.
Perhaps the best-known installment of the Sprint series is 1986’s arcade classic Super Sprint, and now, almost 40 years on from that version, Atari are reviving the Sprint series with NeoSprint.
The game has been in early access on the Atari VCS since October 2023. Atari and developer Headless Chicken Games have used feedback from the VCS community to refine the title ahead of its upcoming PC and console launch.
The game’s features will include a track builder, multiplayer, a career mode, and custom cars.
NeoSprint will speed its way onto PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch this summer. The early access version is available now on Atari VCS. Learn more at the official website.
