We reported on the release of an HD remaster of Rainbow Cotton last year and now have the lowdown on what is shaping up to be a fantastic release. We know it will be released digitally on Xbox, Switch, PlayStation and PC on 9th May 2024 and a brand new trailer gives us a taste of what we can expect. The trailer not only shows the game but gives a crash course in the differences between emulation, remaster and remakes of classic games.
Rainbow Cotton was the fifth game in the Rainbow series and the first to use 3D graphics. The game has been developed by SUCCESS Corporation with publishing duties being handled by ININ Games. The release will include the full original Dreamcast version in the Retro Mode that now includes achievements. The remastered port adds a variety of features including an improved lock-on system and a local co-op mode. Look out for a full review from Fusion soon.
