Retro Events Ltd have announced that their popular games fair will move to a new venue for Saturday 6th August’s meet. After taking attendees comments that the current venue, the Marriott Hotel in Leeds, was not fit for purpose, the team have secured a new one. The next fair will be held at the Indoor Athletics Centre at the John Charles Centre for Sport complex from 11am to 4pm.

In a statement Retro Events said ‘We want the event to be as comfortable as possible for everyone attending, so with this goal in mind, we have spent the last few weeks viewing a range of venues throughout Leeds and the wider local area to ensure that the next Retro Games Fair is much more spacious, and can accommodate everyone planning to attend without the need for a one in and one out policy.

‘We will not only be upgrading the size of the venue but also the event itself into the Super Retro Games Fair – this will take place on Saturday 6th August at the Indoor Athletics Centre at the John Charles Centre for Sport complex from 11am to 4pm (right next to South Leeds Stadium) – this space is absolutely huge, has lots of free parking nearby, and not too far from many bus routes as well.’

The comments that have led to change centre around customers having to wait for entry following crowding at the Marriot. A one in, one out system was introduced to stem the crowd but this led to large queues and many attendees not being able to get in at all. The team are also adding early bird tickets to their purchasing options that will allow for a more relaxed environment before the crowds descend.
