Make of it what you will, but any sealed Nintendo game just attracts the most bizarre amounts of cash from collectors. Especially when it has been through the contentious grading process. The most recent example is this original Zelda game on the NES that was found sealed, sent off to be graded, and then auctioned off on Heritage Auctions.
It eventually sold for $288,000.00 which, while not the most expensive game ever sold at auction, seems out of this world for a game that sold millions on release. According to those in the sealed Nintendo scene, this was a slightly rare version of the first print run and doesn’t come up for sale in this condition very often. We’ll take their word for it and continue to play on our pauper’s emulator.
