It was with great joy that Darius Extra was included on the Mega Drive mini when it was released in 2019. The game was inexplicably cancelled but shooter fans had the chance to sample it in an enhanced form. It has now been released on Switch and PlayStation in Japan and has had even more upgrades.
We obviously hope for a worldwide release but this is good news that such a classic game that was snatched from our hands in the 90s is now available on modern platforms beyond a mini. The Mega Drive port is considered the most arcade-perfect of all the ports and now it gets a chance to shine.
