Taito have announced the Ray’z Arcade Chronology, a new compilation that will comprise three of Taito’s vertically-scrolling arcade shoot ‘em ups, all of which originally hit the arcades in the 1990s.
The included games are RayForce (originally released in 1994) RayStorm (originally from 1996, and RayCrisis (originally released in 1998). The latter two games will include the option to play with new updated HD visuals. The games are to be ported by Japanese developer M2, who have form for fantastic updates of older games, including Gradius ReBirth and some titles in the Sega Ages series. Arcade purists will be pleased to learn that the included games will be ports of the original arcade games (as is suggested by the compilation’s title), rather than ports of previous home console releases.
Ray’z Arcade Chronology will be released on Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2023.
