Three ex-Rare workers have got the band back together to release a Christmas song to raise funds for video game charity SpecialEffect. Video game artist Kev Bayliss along with composers David Wise and Grant Kirkhope all worked together at Rare on classics such as Killer Instinct and Donkey Kong Country. Their new song is a story about a gamer who wants a video game for Christmas.
The trio, who named the band Retro Fusion, are aiming to get to Christmas Number 1 whilst raising as much funds as possible. They’ve also made a pixel art video to accompany the festive tune that you can watch on their YouTube channel. Those wanting to buy the song can find it on most of the usual music streaming services such as iTunes and Amazon.
