Responding to a tweet from Sega’s official retro Twitter account (@segaforever), one of the Sonic Team developers responsible for Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, Shun Nakamura, has confirmed that he’d be interested in making a Billy Hatcher sequel.
Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg is an underrated gem of a 3D platformer that was pure Sega, despite being released on Nintendo console, and it offered more inventiveness and creativity in its one installment than some franchises manage to muster over decades of releases. The game was released on Nintendo Gamecube, PC and Mac in 2003.
So come on, Sega, how about a sequel? And get cracking at a remaster of the first game for modern machines while you’re at it. We’d certainly be willing to “shell out” for a Billy Hatcher sequel and remaster, and we’re not “yolking”!

Billy Hatcher is one of my favourite games on the Gamecube. Gorgeous to look at and great fun to play. I’d love to see a sequel.
