FIFA isn’t necessarily the kind of game we’d normally cover here on Fuston R Gamer, but we like to keep an eye on what’s going on with long-running games franchises, and there are few franchises that have run as long as EA’s FIFA, which began with 1993’s FIFA International Soccer for the Sega Mega Drive.
FIFA 23 will be released on 30th September 2022, and will be EA’s 30th and final FIFA game, as EA will release future football games under the EA Sports FC brand, with FIFA games continuing from a new publisher.
Anyway, that’s not the (only) interesting bit. EA are making sure their FIFA games go out with a bang, as the final EA Sports FIFA title will include AFC Richmond, the fictitious football team from Apple TV Plus’s sitcom Ted Lasso. See Ted Lasso in-game in the trailer below…
