Developer Tim Rachor has created a spiritual (i.e. unofficial) sequel to It Came from the Desert, which was a popular B-movie-inspired game that was originally released for the Amiga in 1989.
It Returned to the Desert promises authentic 90s-style visuals and “a mix of adventure and turn-based tactics”.
It Returned to the Desert may be an unofficial sequel to It Came from the Desert, but it should please fans of the original Cinemaware game, which many regard as one of the best titles released for the Amiga.
It Returned to the Desert was released on 15th February 2023 and is available now for Windows and Linux and can be downloaded from itch.io for a minimum payment of €9.90 EUR. The game is also available on Steam for £8.99.
