Insider Gaming is reporting that a new PlayStation handheld system is currently in development. The device, dubbed the Q Lite, will use PS Remote Play rather than cloud-streaming technology to stream directly from your PlayStation 5.
Early prototypes show the handheld will look a lot like a regular PlayStation 5 controller, but with a massive 8″ touchscreen rammed in the centre.
It’s going to be a busy time for Sony hardware – a slimline PS5 with a detachable drive is already rumoured for September, and the PS5 Pro is also reported for release in 2024. The handheld is supposedly scheduled to be released somewhere between the two, so perhaps it could arrive in time for Christmas, only time (or more leaks) will tell.
