After a successful debut last year, the Evercade Game of the Month programme has restarted, now available to Evercade EXP owners as well as Evercade VS owners. To access the Evercade Game of the Month, users simply update to the latest system software. Each game only remains playable until the system software is updated again, but in January all Evercade Game of the Month titles will be collected onto a cartridge in the Indie Heroes series.
This year’s programme has got off to a spectacular start, so much so that you may well decide not to update for a few months, so you can keep playing this month’s title!
The debut Evercade Game of the Month for 2023 is the delicious Donut Dodo. This love letter to 1980s coin-op platformers is a perfect fit for the Evercade platform, and as you can see from our Donut Dodo Switch review, we adore the game!
As well as being a very tasty game, this month’s Evercade Game of the Month is notable as it is a native Evercade port, whereas most Evercade games rely on emulation. Donut Dodo is only the second native port to Evercade, following Cathedral.
