Without a shadow of a doubt, The Wolf Among Us was the finest work that Telltale Games produced. The studio, which ran for nearly 15 years produced many point-and-click style graphic adventure games. Whilst The Walking Dead is probably the most well-known, The Wolf Among Us – in this reviewer’s opinion – easily had the best art style, script, and voice acting. It was hardly surprising when it was nominated for two Bafta Gaming Awards.
Based on the 2002 American comic book Fables, TWAU tells the story of a clandestine community made up of fairy tale and folklore characters, hiding in the modern world. Sheriff Bigby Wolf (formerly the Big Bad Wolf) was tasked with solving a series of mysterious murders across 5 wonderful episodes.
Now that Telltale Games has been raised from the dead, the sequel has been set for release next year, nine years after the original. Picking up six months later during wintertime, a new case threatens the line between the New York PD and Fabletown. Not much else is known at this stage, but a fantastic trailer has now dropped – check it out below.
