We love a good shooter here at Fusion and we’ve been covering the release of the Ray’Z collection since its announcement last year. Taito’s Ray series has been a shooter fan favourite since its first release, RayForce, to arcades in 1994. It has since gone on to spawn two sequels and has been released in various guises on retro and current consoles.
Now, two new collections are set for release. The first, Ray’Z Arcade Chronology, is heading to Switch and PS4 on the 30th of June 2023. The collection features the original arcade ports of RayForce, RayStorm and RayCrisis as well as HD remasters of RayStorm and RayCrisis.
The second collection, titled RayStorm x RayCrisis HD Collection, will be released the same day and includes the arcade ports of RayStorm and RayCrisis as well as the HD remasters. Both collections are available digitally but it will please collectors that both collections can be bought physically.
The physical release of RayStorm x RayCrisis HD Collection is up for pre-order on Amazon, while the physical of Ray’Z Arcade Chronology is being handled by Strictly Limited Games.
Definitely got my eye on this one.
